Just to remind you next TUESDAY 9th SEPTEMBER 2014 school starts. For 6th grades would be nice to review year 5 contents since you'll have an initial evaluation on thursday 11th and friday 12th. The same goes for the new 5th graders; review year 4 Science and English contents since you'll have your initial evaluation on thursday 11th and friday 12th.

KET PRACTICE

Estimadas familias y alumn@s,

     

Paso a explicarles, en castellano, unas pinceladas básicas acerca  de las famosas pruebas externas que habrán de realizar sus hijos e hijas en Abril. No obstante, aunque ya se les ha explicado en clase en varias ocasiones cómo hacerlo, he creído conveniente realizar esta reseña. Además en la próxima reunión de padres del 5 de Febrero se les explicará a los padres en persona cómo funcionan éstas pruebas y cómo practicarlas.

Los alumnos de 6º de Educación Primaria se presentarán a una de las siguientes pruebas:

-    Cambridge English Preliminary for schools (PETfs) de nivel B1

-   Cambridge English Key for schools (KETfs) de nivel A2.

Este año no se realizará la prueba previa de nivel Placement Test a los alumnos de 6º de Educación Primaria; la cual servía para determinar su nivel. En este curso 2013-14 la directora del centro, oído el Equipo Docente de 6º de Educación Primaria, decidirá a qué nivel presentará a cada alumno-a, pudiendo quedar alumnos-as excluidos de dichas pruebas si el profesorado considera que su nivel no es el suficiente.

La fecha de realización de la parte escrita de Cambridge English Preliminary for schools (PETfs) y Cambridge English Key for schools (KETfs) será el jueves 24 de abril de 2014.

De las fechas del resto de las pruebas que miden las destrezas orales serán informados en un futuro por parte de la Instituciones examinadoras.

Por todo ello conviene que los alumnos-as continúen familiarizandose con el formato de las pruebas. De este modo, y através de este mismo blog, los alumnos-as de 6º pueden practicar gracias al link de la pestaña inicial que  se puede ver más arriba. Una vez hayan pinchado esa pestaña, podrán leer y acceder al WIKI que ya se creó con este propósito el curso pasado y sirvió de gran ayuda a alumnos-as y familias. SÓLO SE DEBE PRACTICAR POR EL MOMENTO EL NIVEL KET reading+writing and listening. El speaking se practicará en clase con los compañeros-as asignadas y el profesor y auxiliares de conversación.

Cuando os metáis en éstas opciones vereis que al principio viene una explicación de lo que vale esa parte de la prueba, el tiempo que se utiliza y preguntas modelo...Al final viene un DOCUMNETO PDF que es la práctica de un exanmen real. En la práctica del reading+writing se familiarizarán con el tipo de preguntas y formato, sólo deben leer el enunciado y contestar en base al ejemplo proporcionado. Los materiales facilitados vienen con un "ANSWER KEY", al final de cada prueba para que los alumnos-as junto con sus familais puedan comprobar sus respuestas.

As I promised...some pics of Noa...my new daughter...she was born on the 7th January. Everything was great during the birth...

 She just eats and sleeps...

 We are very happy...but having sleepless nights...

I've been sending the class planning to the teachers who are covering me; so keep working hard in English and Science!!!
